Techniques for revisional surgery differs depending on the causes. Severe scar, too high double eyelid line, or asymmetric ptosis can be corrected simply by non-incisional technique or natural adhesion technique. However, revisional surgery is carried out using incisional technique most of the times. Depending on circumstances, revisional double eyelid surgery can be combined with other surgeries such as epicanthoplasty, lateral epicanthoplasty, and fat transplantation on the eyelid.

Cases that require revisional double eyelid surgery

  • Drowsy Looking Eyes Due to Disappearance
    of the Double Eyelid Line

One of the most common reasons for revisional eyelid surgery
that is mostly caused by disappearing double eyelid line or
incomplete fat removal. It can easily be corrected
    by non-incisional technique.

  • Too Thin or Too Narrow Double Eyelid

Low double eyelid line can make the eyes look heavy.
If can be corrected by simple incisional technique or making
a new line above the original line. (Epicanthoplasty is highly
recommended in case of severe Mongolian fold).

  • Severe Scar from the Surgery with
    Hypertrophy (so called “Sausage Line”)

Correction can be made by removing tissues from the scar
and hypertrophic parts on the line followed by levator surgery.

  • Asymmetrical Double Eyelid

In many cases, heights of both eyelid lines are different or
one side of the line is disappeared. Rather than correcting
each eyelids, it is better to correct both eyes together after
    understanding the causes for asymmetry.
